hey all,

Just got my eVGA 6800GS today, and was OCing it a little. I was wondering if my temps were safe. At 500/1150 i was getting 45/~80 degrees Celcius. Thanks for your help!

kinda hot, i was getting around 58c load with the stock cooler on a XFX 6800gs, what's the ambient temp. in your case?

maybe the thermal compound needs a little time to break in, or the heatsink isn't making proper contact with the GPU... your idle temps are fine, i got about the same with the stock cooler, but there's a pretty big jump bewteen your idle and load temp?

yes...80c is kinda high for a 6800gs(we are talking PCIe right?). also how is your airflow throughout the case? you might want to invest in a aftermarket cooler. i have a NV5 silencer on my 6800gs(37c idle/48 load), and the Zalman VF700 is another good cooler, both will do a much better job than the stock cooler.
