Is there any reason to go with a 7800GT if I only run 1280x1024 with max everything(except FSAA/AF)? I will be playing BF2 and CS:S mostly. Of course I am looking forward to UT2007 but by then I will probably have a 7800GT. Not sure what it will take to run UT2007 at the settings I like.

Is there a link that benches these cards together? Maybe ATI has something little faster than the 6800GS/GT for about the same price?

Just don't want to spend the extra when I can put it towards something else.

I'm in the same situation. I need to upgrade because I'm running an lcd with 1920x1080 native res and a 9800Pro doesn't cut it anymore. However, I really don't want to have to upgrade again for UT2007.

I've had a 6600GT but not anymore. I sold it a month ago because the value on it was dropping fast and I knew I would be upgrading this month. Either way I go I am gonna look for a used one first if I can save quite a bit. I most likely won't get a 7800GT since it's out of my price range I am mainly curious if it would be a waste with me using 1280x1024 on all my games. Figured 7800GT is mainly for 1600x1200 ppl.

isn't UT2007 due this Spring?

if you have the bucks and don't feel like upgrading . . . again . . . consider the faster card . . .

ATi has the x850xt which is definitely faster than the 6800GS . . . Microcenter still has them in their B&M stores [i got one of the last online ones which easily hits PE speeds] for $200 after $50mir.
