6800 vs. 6800 GT

Given the new 6800 series... I have a question based on the recent AT article that ranked cards for price performance ratio.

It would appear that the 6800NU is the best buy for the money in the price/performance ratio (NVIDIA camp). I was happy with my Far Cry performance, and happy with my DOOM III performance so far. I intend on getting (and it is the game I am waiting for) Tribes Vengence and wondered if anyone would persuade me to trade up ($108) to get the GT.

Thanks.

6800GT offers 4 more pipelines, higher clock speed, AND GDDR3 memory. 6800 only has 12 pipelines, and DDR1 memory.

The GT has 40% higher fillrate and memory bandwidth, not to mention double the RAM and the media processor. Is it worth an extra 33% cash moneys? IMO, yes.

But there are plenty of benchmarks around for you to see if the framerate increase is worth it to you.
