6800 unlocking-Pipe HW Masking question

Hi folks,

I purchased one of those $70 (after MIR and tax) eVGA AGP 6800 video cards at Circuit City. The first one I bought, I could unlock only 1 of the pipes (12v/6p) without artifacting. In Riva Tuner it shows those pipes are Hardware masked.

I picked up a second card and now the pipes on this card are NOT Hardware masked, just disabled. I enabled both pipes (16v/6p) and no artifacting.

Since this second card has no hardware masking, is it a true 6800GT in a sense? Other than the DDR1 memory? I OC'd the card to 378/785 and the results in 3dMark 05 is 4476. Is this close to a 6800GT?

generally a 6800gt scores right around 5000 @stock. i was able to score 5124 with my 6800nu 16/6vp(380/850) on my old XP-M 2600 setup.
