I have a 6800 ??, it has ultra Bios on it and runs at ultra speed, so I have been told.
I have not really look ran any beachmarks, but lets assume this to be true.

I can get a 7600GT, but I wanted to know if its even faster.
Also i got about 200-250 I can sped on video card. Is thier any vidoe card out thier that would be good speed jump over my current card for that price. I mean %50 or better frame rate.

I have read from 4 different people saying the 7600 is much fast to slightly slower in another thread. Someone that know a little let me know.

the 7600gt is only a little bit faster than the 6800ultra

a x1800xt would be good for your budget, they're about $220-230 @ newegg

I've seen some selling on the forums for under $250, and also seen them at newegg for ~$240 (with rebated though)

Definitly the best buy right now imo.

If it's a PCI-E 6800 ultra, I say get a cheap 2nd 6800 ultra and a SLI mobo and run them in SLI. they will smoke anything except the fastest current cards in most cases.

However, if it's a AGP card or you don't want to do the SLI thing, a 1800XT 256mb card would be a good upgrade.

Uhm.. no they wouldn't.

I used to run a 6800GT at Ultra speeds when I was on agp. I bought the X1800XT 512 when I switched over to pci-e a while ago. The X1800XT whoops, did I mention WHOOPS? the pants off my old 6800, I actually got in on the Newegg thing at that point for the deal on the ATI. Paid $271.00 for it, and must say that it is the Best $$ I have spent on a computer item in years.

According to Tomshardware VGA charts a 6800 Ultra SLI setup gets 2585 in 3D06 (1024X768, noAA/AF), where the 1800XT OC gets 2122. A 7800GT SLI will beat it by ~300. In all 3D06 scores at different resolutions it stays ahead by about 15-20%.

In FEAR at 16X12 however, the 1800XT will get 40FPS where the 6800 ultra SLI will get 28FPS. So I dunno, I guess it depends on what you're doing.

I guess the 1800XT would be the best bet overall.

Not to mention that they cost over $500

Thanks.
One question. Whats the differnce between GT and GTS.

Any one else sick of how companies are marketing products.
A 6800 wether it's a ultra or not should not really beat anything in the 7xxx class.
80% of the class upgrade don't add any real features. All they do is add power to higher end cards.

Its crazy that a 9800 can still out preform some xxx and some 1xxx ATI cards.
It take me 2 months of research to get a card, and by then its already 2 months old.
