HI

I have 2 BFG 6800 OC SLI READY ULTRAs, each has 16 pipelines if i am not mistaken, if i put them together on a SLI compatable board (A8N SLI DELUXE ASUS), will my two 16 pipeline cards equal a 32 Pipline total video memory?

Thanks for the help guys

it wont quite be like a full 32 pipes no, theres some loss. having two ultras doesnt mean your gonna get twice the performance of one, but in general you will see more than 50% performance increase in really strenuous situations.

another thing, even tho each ultra has its own 256mb of on board memory, in SLI mode you still only have 256mb, since the same data must be written to each cards memory.

so no its really a true equal to 32 pipelines, but its the most powerful set up there is out there at the moment so just enjoy it

No.

If I were to guess, I would say that it would be more like a single 24-pipe board. After all, SLI isn't perfect. If it were, then yes, I would say that dual-6800U's would be like a single 32-pipe card. Unfortunately for everyone, the world isn't perfect ;) .
