(AGP) The Ultra costs $366 and the XT PE costs $439. Which would you get? I don't plan on overclocking unless I get the Ultra, which I would perform a mild overclock; maybe 450/1150.

If I had to chose, at that price the ultra is a no brainer. However, IMO, it's better to switch over to pci-e and wait a while for g70/r520 based cards to be released, than spending all that money on cards that will soon be second class, and especially for a platform (agp) that will soon be extinct.
AGP won't be "extinct" for 2+ years. It seems like at least 3/4 of computer owners have AGP motherboards so it's not going anywhere for at least 2 years. I say 2 years because that's about the average time between upgrades. The next computer mainstream users will buy will most likely have a pci-e motherboard, thus AGP will be phased out.
As for your question, I'd get the 6800U. Saving 70 bucks and the difference between those cards is marginal at best.

6800ultra because of SLI and its a hell of alot cheaper for the performance. actually, get a 6800gt and oc it to ultra speeds and then you saved yoursefl 100 bucks.

Anyways looking at both cards listed?.I would ditch them and go for a better priced 6800GT (AGP) then overclock it to 6800 Ultra speeds? Sit on that card for as long as you can and then get a new one when you move over to PCI-E
It?s a great card that should last a long time. The True replacement to the Geforce4Ti4200.
Why bother with a 6800Ultra and a X850XTPE when they only perform 15% better.
PS: If u can get a better deal for a X800XT then a 6800GT that too would be an option.
The high ^ high end cards offer nothing more then a few Extra Mhz that you get for free when u overclock.

Best Buy has the BBA X800 XL on sale for 250. Pretty good deal IMO and can probably be OC'd to X800XT PE speeds pretty easily.
There's also a BBA All in Wonder X800XT AGP at newegg for $333 ($383.00 - $50 rebate ie) nowdays.This card would be better than 6800 Ultra plus has also a quality TV tuner inbuilt, hence best deal IMO.

At these prices the 6800U is a better deal. Don't OC it though, the gains will be trivial, and not worth the risk.

Well, since your biased, the only thing you can buy right now for top end is of course the X850XTPE. Either that, or wait til at least Q4 to get your R520 something.

The x800xt PE or non PE is your best bet. Honesty, my x800xl felt every bit as fast as my 6800U at higher clock speeds, in everything but Doom 3, obviously. Ruled Source and ran Far Cry like butter. I loved my 6800U, but if you want the king of AGP, then ATI is your provider.
The 6800GT and X800XL both get my votes for alternates, though
