6800 temperature on the taskbar

I use MBM5 and I cannot acces the 6800 temperature in it.
I also tried Speedfan and it did not show the GPU temperature.

Has anyone done this?

Deleted the instructions. The updated instructions are given in this thread in a post that comes after this.

you have to enable background monitoring before it shows up:

Open RivaTuner, main tab.
Under "Target Adapter", left click on "Customize".
Select "Hardware Monitoring".
Click the red dot on bottom left.

Then do Navid's instructions. Thanks man.

It seems like you can't have background logging enabled on startup - which is annoying. ie, if you restart, you have to do these steps again to have the temp in your sys tray.

petesamprs,

Thanks for pointing out the problem.

Please try this.

1- Start Rivatuner and go to the settings tab.
2- Select "Run at Windows startup".
3- Choose "via Startup folder" under the pull-down menu.
4- Select "Send to tray on close".
5- Click OK.

Now, Rivatuner always starts when you start Windows.

6- Go to the "Power user" tab.
7- Expand \Monitoring.
8- Click on the left side of "BackgroundMonitoring".
9- Double click on the right side of "BackgroundMonitoring" on the darker area.
10- Enter 1.
11- Expand \Core Temperature.
12- Click on the left side of "ShowInIcon".
13- Double click on the right side of ShowInIcon.
14- Enter 1.
15- Click OK.

I hope it works this time.
Please let me know if it does not. Then, it means I have left out something. It is working for me.

Navid, do your instructions solve the problem of losing the core temp on startup?

I can make it so Riva is enabled on startup and minimized to system tray, but I can't make it automatically display core temp when I minimize...when i startup i have to tell it to do it each time.

Please advise if you know a fix. All I want is my core temp permanently in my system without having to turn it on.

thanks.

It works for me.
I suggest that you un-install Riva and install again. Then, follow the last instructions that gave, not the original ones.
Please let me know if you do this and it still does not work.

OK, when I start Rivatuner (v. 2.0 RC 15.2), I get an error message that says "Warning! Rivatuner has not been tested with the currently installed driver." Then instructs me to upgrade to a newer version of Rivatuner.

I'm running the nVidia 66.93 WHQL driver. Should I not use Rivatuner until they carch up w/ the driver?

I have no answer.
I noticed that warning and ignored it!
