I have a ULI based motherboard and a stock 6800 agp card. I'd kind of like to go PCIe just to regain a the use of a PCI slot. (The agp slot is right on top of the pci slots. The PCIe is across the board.)

Is the 6800gs any kind of upgrade over a regular 6800? No slower, right?

Naw it's almost on par with the GT. It is shy roughly 4FPS or so in some games and I heard it outperforms GT in some. When o/ced it outperforms the GT.

Can't say it would be big upgrade from 6800 but would be a upgrade as it has the same pipes just clocked much faster.

Bench of all the latest cards(except 1900):

Looking over that bench going from 6800 to 6800GS will get you 20FPS increase at those settings in Fear which ain't bad at all. You should def see a difference in speed I would think. Sell your 6800 and that should pay for most your 6800GS. I'm going 6800GS or GTO2(haven't decided yet) in a few days.

yeah, its a good upgrade, but only if you can get the GS for about $200. some have been able to unlock pipelines, so that should provide a good boost, but dont count on yours being able to.
