for those who have a regular 6800, how much noise does it make?

if it makes a lot, do you think that the pci-e version will be quieter?

The cooling on the 6800 card series isnt very good, you would do better if you buy a nv5 silencer. You will have very quiet operation at very good cooling and will lower your temps by 10-15degress even tho temps dont make a diff lol.

*but it voids warranty* owell! atleast you can overclock your card better and get some better performance from your 6800 *regular*

would it be better to downgrade to a 6600GT PCI-E? the games i play (or wanna play) are:

HL2

CS:Source

Halo/Halo 2

MS Flight Sim

Hitman

Maybe a few others .....

Dont downgrade esp. for thos games, HL2 and halo2 will defenatly run with the eye candy you'd expect....with a 6800gt , that is if you have sufficient ram and cpu speed. the 6800GT is unmatched anywhere! you will be kicking youself so bad when newer games come out and you need that extra juice your 6600gt cant provide but your 6800gt gives.

Although if your very tight on budget you could go 6600gt pc-i, but i dont know the performance of those but i expect it would be a fair drop from 6800gt.
