Newb here.
I bought doom3 last week, and tried to play it on my system...
p4 2.4 HT
1024 Corsair xms pc3200
ti4200 128 w/ 8x agp
I averaged about 21 fps w/ doom3's timedemo at 640x480 on low settings. To say the least, I was a little bit disappointed. Before I got the game, I assumed that my system would be able to play the game at "bottom of the barrell" settings w/ a decent framerate... but I was wrong. So I did some browsing and found out about the 6800. A couple days later I bought an eVGA gf6800 from newegg.
Ok, so that brings me to present time... I got my card in yesterday. I just wanted to ask if there was anything that I needed to do before I begin installing my new card? I have the latest video drivers (61.77) installed for my ti4200 atm. Do I need to uninstall them, and the reinstall them again? Or will the 6800 automatically recognize that I have 61.77 installed already and just use that?
OR should I use the disk that came with my 6800?
Help a newb out please! Thanks in advance.
