Is it true that 6800 non-gt's in pci-e format are not unlockable via software but agp format is unlockable. Also what is a good brand of 6800 to get? thx

no difference, it was tested by anandtech themselves, that AGP and PCI-e aren't gonna have forks in the fps roadmap

however, they have suggested the PCI-e is more cost effective, as well as feature proofing you system

but AGP mobos are a lot cheaper anyway, if you're willing to pay for the more expensive AGP cards compared to the PCI-e's which cost around 25% less in price

I believe the PCIe 6800 are also better overclockers. However you cant unlock pipes on the PCIe version. As for brand, I had a Dell OEM and it was great.

There are a few brands to swear by when it comes to graphics cards.

- eVGA
- Leadtek
- BFG
- Sapphire (Radeon)
