Hey guys

Building a shuttle pc for my friend. Got a SN85 with a 240 watt PSU. I can run my old 9800pro in there just fine, but Im wondering if I could actually use a 6800 or x800 in there. I know that there are minimum power requirements for both these cards, but can it be done?

Any of you out there running shuttles with a 6800 or a x800 level card?

Thanks

EDIT: X800 or 6800 AGP

Check the 6800GS reviews on main AT site, I think it uses less power than the GT. If not maybe a 7600 since the 7900 dropped power significantly.

Also check the sudhian.com forums, half the people there use Shuttles.

my friend was using a newcastle 3200+, 74GB raptor, cdrw/dvd combo, 6800nu agp, 2x512MB in his shuttle. i remember him saying that "i need to upgrade to 300W if i want to add another hard drive".

so i think you can run those level cards fine. just beware going on to 6800 ultra and above cards...and make sure they can fit inside that shuttle!

Did your friend ever experience crashes or random restarts when playing games?
