I've read that Chaintech and a company called Galaxy (Galaxy Glacier 6800) have 2.2ns memory on the vanilla 6800. Is the Galaxy Glacier available in the States? The Chaintech version is.

Also, what's the success rate of unlocking the extra 4 pipes. Any brand doing better than others??

Thanks...

Galaxy 6800 is in UK only I think (for now). When I was guying my 6800 it came down to Leadtek or Chainteh, in the end went with Leadtek because of higher image quality on 2D and better cooling IMO.

As for unlocking pipes, as I've posted before you can easily do it... But those pipes are damaged and have bee locked for that reason. So if you unlock them it's pretty much a gamble, you may start having all sorts of problems when playing games, or you may just see a bug here and there, but nothing major. Personally I'm not risking it once my card comes in :)

Now what we need is for someone to write an app that identifies the broken pipe and enables the 3 (or 2 or even just 1) pipes that do work. I'd be happy with a 14 pipe 6800 :).
