I believe that this comes with 16 pipes enabled, and slightly faster memory speeds than 6800nu?
Correct me if wrong but seems very hot.

Actually this one I believe is just 8 pipes, instead of 12 for the nu or 16 for the gt/ultra.

The eVGA 6800LE is the one that is a 6800 Ultra with lower specs. All other 6800LEs are badly stripped down NV40 cards (8 pipelines, slow memory) as mentioned above.

Full (and better brand) 6800nu cards are only a few dollars more than the one you linked.

Hmm, just clicked on the link and the info says it has 16 pipes, interesting....

6800LE - 8 pipes default
6800 (sometimes referred to as 6800NU) - 12 pipes default
6800GT/6800ULTRA - 16 pipes default

That's the specs. Any description that says otherwise is wrong.

BTW, I think $249 for 6800LE is MSRP, so it's not that hot and as was pointed above in the thread you can have 6800LE for less than that.

Buyxg listing is just a bit missleading. Look at the features: it is true that its based on the "Superscalar 16-pipe GPU Architecture" but it only can do "8 Pixels/Clock Rendering Pipeline".

The Evga 6800 LE is the only card with 16 pipes enabled by default, it's also on a 6800 Ultra PCB, has 256mb DDR3 ram, and takes up 2 slots. This Apollo has 8 pipes and 128mb ram, and I've never heard of any softmodding capabilities, but they may exist.

evga6800le is an exception, probably too many 6800ultra chips/PCBs, they were gone in less than a week and you cannot buy them anywhere right now.

There is a 6800LE and a 6800 Limited Edition also sometimes referred to as LE. Two different animals so don't get confused. eVGA had the 6800 Limited Edition cards which were (we suspect) Ultras that did not pass QA/QC. The other cards on the market now are true LEs as in Low End and lower specs than a regular 6800.

Hope this card isn't much faster than a 6600GT 500/1000MHz. I just bought an AGP one for $230 a few minutes ago.

If this is 300/700 and 8 pipes, I think the card I got at zipzoomfly just now may be faster.
