6800 GT... Which brand?

So I have finally decided to buy a 6800 GT 256MB AGP graphics card but I don't know which brand to buy. Note that I live in Finland so we don't have all the same brands that you do (like BFG for example). But here are the brands that we have which sell 6800 GT 256MB AGP:
-AOpen Aeolus
-ASUS
-Club 3D
-Gainward
-GigaByte
-Leadtek
-MSI
-PNY Verto
-XFX

There might be other brands available too...

So which brand to buy? I need a card which overclocks nicely and which has a reasonably quiet cooler.

I agree. If youre gonna spend the crazy ammount of money for a 6800GT, might as well get the best one, get BFG. Cant much beat a lifetime warranty. And on top of that, if you went to resell it, it would hold its value better when you upgrade.

uh, he said he can't get BFGs there. Also, I'm not sure but I think the AGP BFG 6800GT cards still have that crappy dual 40mm fan cooler on them (I have this card and the cooler is weak, loud and prone to fan failure).

Out of those choices, the Leadtek is probably the best.

Didn't you read my post? I live in Finland and BFG isn't available in Europe. I'm sure BFG is a good brand but it's only available in US. And I don't think I'm gonna spend extra money ordering a card from US.

MSI comes with a couple games, but I'd have to go with BFG. Lifetime warranty and a free copy of Far Cry. 🙂

EDIT - Sorry didn't read the "No BFG" part. Yeah Leadtek is the way to go. That giant heatsink will keep your card running ultra-cool. 😀

I'd go with Leadtek as well. Just reworked the heatsink on my 6800nu and was impresed with the design over what I've seen
inside other brands, including BFG. Now, that's not to say there aren't different designs going around.

As for the "lifetime" warranty. Just be aware that applys to the lifetime of the product, not yours. 😉

I had an Aopen Aeolus FX5900 that I loved. They're not known for big software packages or overclocking tools or great warranties, but mine was very nicely made. Built exact to nVidia's reference design... it fit in my case better than another other manufacturer I've owned, including Powercolor, Asus, MSI, BFG, and a Built By ATI 9200.

I have a 3 gigabyte 6800gt cards with a heatpipes, I removed the heatpipes since they are not doing any good job and replaced them with NV 5.

Now they all overclock beyond 415 core and 1170 for memory.
I have not tried to push them more.

HE HAS ALREADY said he cant get BFG or eVGA.

He could order both from here in UK.

The Leadtek will be fine, plenty here would try get you to by BFG anyhow, when there are other makes as good or better.

Here are some other brands that I found which are available:
-Albatron
-Apple
-Galaxy
-Palit Daytona
-Point of View
-Prolink PixelView
-Sparkle

I know bfg isn't an option, but consider this, bfg's are barely overclocked, if you oc more, the warranty is toast, leadtek's overclock very much, if your going to void the warranty, might as well get a high overclock..and leadteks usually overclock to ultra easily..

Leadtek since their G-Force 3 (before ti 200 and ti 500 came out) made a name for themselves with the best G-Force 3 out there, they have good card and yes ive read of fans breaking etc same as can happen on any cards.

Aint read anything bad about 6000 series from them only BFG's with fans etc. (think they got new design now not 2 fans).

Peeps slag XFG, well their newish and seem to be coming up in the world they got the fastest out the box 7800GTX with 490mhz core (obv in warrenty as factory set)

There is a thread about XFX here, i wouldnt say no to one them fast buggers.
