Are you guy also holding off on your purchases ?

The Asus looks nice, but it'll be $50 more expensive at the minimum, as Asus cards generally tend to be. As for Abit, I highly doubt they'll be making nVidia cards anymore, sadly. And MSI cards tend to have really neat cooling, but I saw a pic of their solution for the 6800 range somewhere (don't ask where, it was in some huge Computex roundup or somesuch), and was underwhelmed - it certainly doesn't look as good as their 5950 cooler does.
So you could either get a Leadtek (which has a funky cooler, but I think it's ugly), or just "settle" for the stock 20MHz overclock and lifetime warranty on the BFG cards.
I thought this was already debunked as FUD, including the wide-screen issue?Originally posted by: CaiNaM
keep in mind that at this time it seems the bfg's dvi output res. is below standard. that being said, i do like bfg's customer support; they're great.

hmm.. not to my knowledge.. didn't bar81 trade his as he couldn't get the res to work (and also stated BFG CS as well as the FAQ stated the max res?)
I didn't quote the rest because another thread was started that refuted the wide-screen issue by showing it works just fine. Any issue are isolated in nature and most likely correctable at that.1. These cards are produced/outsourced by nVidia so they are reference models. What this should mean is that the quality of the DVI output should not be in question as extremetech has shown that nVidia produced/sourced cards have excellent DVI quality.
2. The max supported resolution for DVI is 1600x1200. BFG acknowledged that wrong information was being disseminated yesterday. All resolutions under 1600x1200 should be available.
I'll add to the BFG GT feedback tomorrow, and let you know if my ram does any better than the whimpy overclock some are getting with it.Originally posted by: Soulkeeper
yeah pricewatch pops up 7 different models:
eVGA
gigabyte
BFG
PNY
gainward
xfx
aopen
out of those choices i'm more inclined to get the BFG
but I do want a better cooling solution
and would prefer prices at or below 300
not sure if i wanna wait or just saw f*ck it and get the BFG

from his post on the 2nd page of his thread after talking to BFG

BFG is the only way to fly IMO. I called them at 2am and immediatly go a native english speaker who knew what he was talking about and resolved my issue in less than a minute...add to that the life time warranty where I've heard people claim they ship a brand new or sometimes next gen card to you instead of fixing it.
As far as cooling...I can't comment since I put waterblocks on everything these days for noises.
