6800 GT and poor Half Life2 FPS?

Hey all,
I just started playing the game over the net and damn my fps suck.
I have the following:
P4 2.5
6800 GT OC
768mb ram.

Running the newest drivers.... An ways, my fps stay the same no matter what, Only 30 FPS!!! I can play at the lowest res. and the fps dont go up or down. I can change every de tail, no change in fps.

Can anyone help?

its possible that online play is capped at 30fps... hmm
is it like this in single player as well?

btw your 3dmark score shows a ridiculously OCed x800xt, not a 6800gt..... wrong link?

Umm I think you have the wrong 3dmark03 score link. The one in the url is for a fx55 with a x800 xt pe.

Yeah, exactly. Oppainter usually has the top or one of the top 5/10 scores in every 3dmark due to his insane rigs (I thought he had a Promie Mach II but it lists "Ice Cascade" in this description, whatever that is. Regardless he has two of those supercooling things - one for the CPU and one for the GPU.

810 MHz / 666 MHz for the core/memory on that X800XT PE is f***ing insane!

2.5 GHz out of an FX-55 is weak - I'm sure he got more out of the chip later.

Just to clarify, HL2 DeathMatch, or Counterstrike source? Have you checked V sync? That would be the major culprit of locked framerates. Try turning that off if it isn''t already.

default should be set, don't know why it would be changed lower, but to test put fps_max in your console in game, then if its set lower type fps_max "monitor refresh rate here" no qoutes.

fappin hell that link he has there.......an FX-55 at 3.5ghz!!1 now thats a motherfvcking processor and 810Mhz on a x800xt!!!! who are these guys! they are the flippin MUTS NUTS
