It idles at 41 C and at load its at a staggering 65 C which is very hot I think.

My 9600 XT only used to be 28C idle and 45 C under heavy load. How could I improve these temperatures?

Also I need a gamma adjustement program which can be used in games over hot keys like ati tool but i cant use it since I have a nvidia card now so I need suggestions, thanks.

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think those numbers are all that far out there on current cards.

I agree. Both my 6800GT and a friend's 6600GT idle at or above 60°C (load is well into the 80's or even above 90 sometimes). It just seems that the GF6 series runs really hot. In the year and a half they've been around, I don't think I've heard of a heat-related death in these cards - so I wouldn't be worried about your temperatures at all. I'd love to have load temps as low as 65C ;):p

Thats actually on the low end for that card.. my 6800GT idles at about 61c & gets up to 78c under load at default 350core/1000ddr & about 5 degree's hotter at 400/1100... older cards like mine do run hotter, but AFAIK the core's have the same limits & can handle up to 120c without any damage.
