I have a Dell XPS2 with the 6800 ultra and need some advice on getting the overclocking to work.

If I try to overclock it with manual settings in the nvidia control panel the clock rates dont change. If I use the auto overclock, it runs the core up to 545mhz but doesn't change the memory speed at all. At 545 it can get 6040 in 3dmark05 but is not stable and will crash after a few runs.

Any ideas on how to get the manual overclocking to work?

why the hell would you wanna overclock a laptop video card when it isnt designed to for it? 1st off, its a notebook. 2nd off, what is 1 or 2 frames gonna do for ya? 3rd, its a friggin dell xps.

not cool because it would give your lappy more heat and prolly drain more of the battery.
You should underclock it since you have a ultra:p

Where am I?

YOU, OUT OF MY GENE POOL

The thing gets around 3 hours of battery life while undervolted.

It runs quite cool. I undervolted the cpu to 1.1 volts and it runs about 45* under full load.
The fans never turn to high and the GPU tops out around 67*.

UPDATE: My 9300 just arrived! I overclocked it to 401/401 stable (it seems...), need more testing.

Use Rivatuner, and it should be easy to overclock.
