I didn't know that the DPC had a million more members than TA Dan, I'll work on both assimilations and adding another person...
Our damn IT dept. let us run out of IP addresses and now my plant can't have all the PC's on the network at the same time...and I have 3 more PII 350's to add ...Maybe they will fix it soon! I hope!
Engineer:
Have you tried Windows 2000 connection sharing? My ISP at home only gave me one IP, but if my main comp had win2k and connection sharing running, all my other comps could connect thru it, even if they were NT 4/95/98
Hey Engineer: Do you have an old 386 or 486 laying around. You can use it as a firewall/router with a program you can freely download from the net. Russ mentioned it in a few threads and I checked it out and now use one. Called Freesco, you can get all the info here. Mine is a 486 dx2 66mhz with 24 mb ram. You don't even need an HD, but I am using some little one that wouldn't be used otherwise. This would certainly let you get 3 more computers on the network.
I had a similar problem recently with IP addresses. I took one of the few I had and assigned to one of the NICs in the freesco box. Then ran A DHCP to allow the freesco box to automatically assign ips to the 5 computers I wanted internet and network access to. I turned NAT on in the settings and havn't had any problems. This has worked great for me. I just thought it might help engineer get 3 more compters cracking.
