Plus 30 dollars off if you buy a motherboard... what do we think about a 6700k vs 1600x?

I think this has to be the best deal right now if you don't want to wait... what does the average 6700k hit, 4.7 ghz?

Definitely getting close to upgrade time for us old sandy bridge hold outs.

Doesn't MC always run these sales or sell processors way below market value? I'm too far from one to buy anything unless you can buy online?

Yeah, but not this low. I think the 6700 was 280 or 300 before. I think this is a direct response to Ryzen + getting old skylake stock out.

Y'know there is a hot deals forum. And the 6700K has been $299 there before; but don't know if that included the mobo discount.

The discounts are typically in-store only. I guess it's a loss leader type deal to get people into the stores.

Tempting, but 8.25% TX sales tax kills it vs. Ryzen 1700 (most likely - we'll see how the IPC and max air OC stacks up)

I know there is a hot deals forum (which has been dead for years), but I'm trying to see what people think is better? 6C Ryzen or 4C Sky Lake? There wasn't an equally priced i7k before.

As someone who shops at Microcenter frequently, it's always been there. The $30 off bundle is featured in their monthly catalog:

I'd love to see some real price wars! But the i7 at Microcenter has gone for as low as $250 during Christmas sales (I bought my 4790K in 2014 for $250 with an even better $40-off bundle).

If you haven't been buying your Intel Processor+Mobo from Microcenter, you've been over paying.
