Linky This could be a turn in nVidia's favor. Something like this would leave the x700 behind if it's priced low enough.

We never truly have enough mid-range options lordtyranus. This news makes me happy indeed.

If you read the article you'll know that this card is meant to replace the 6800 NU because it's inexpensive to produce (it has no disabled pipelines)

my only hope is that it's cheaper than the 6800 NU, and the 256MB version doesn't cost too much more.

I hope there aren't any. 6200 6600 6600GT 6700 6800 6800GT 6800U. This should be more than enough to satisfy anyones price/performance bracket. Whether or not the cards come with 128 or 256 DDR should be the only variable.

This won't be replacing the 6600 in competing with the x700, seeing as the 6600 came out, oh, five minutes ago. :p But it looks promising as a cheaper replacement for the plain 6800, even if it's packing only 128-bit memory (which is my suspicion).

The plain 6800 is already hitting $250AR at B&M stores, so the 6700 might be close.

Could be good. I assume the 6800nu to be a bit faster, and more oc/tweak flexable, This is all based on pure assumption though. (128bit mem bus)

on the contrary, if the 6800nu is still going to be reject chips that couldn't cut it as GTs or full blown Ultras, then there's a good chance the 6700 could be more tweekable, at least to the point where a higher percentage of users experience greater success with teaking the chip, unless you mean enabling pipes...

If the 6700 is 400MHz/12 pipe, it'll likely be faster in newer, shader-intensive games than a 325MHz/12-pipe 6800, even with slower (128-bit) memory.

I wonder how many ROPs it'll have....
