$6700 won't get a used Tacoma...sumbitches are expensive!

And I figure if I get a truck I want a bug out vehicle, so no reason to look at 2WD models.

I do want an auto since it's a daily driver, I get enough stick work on the Miata. Need to be able to eat on the road.

I think I've decided on a 2002-2005 Hyundai Elantra with an auto. Should be able to find one under $4k. I've seen plenty at the $4.7 mark, so just have to wait for find the right one.

30+ mpg, cheap, look to be reliable. This is just for basic transportation, so the cheaper the better. And this fits the bill. No need to worry on resale value as I plan on beating on it until it won't go anymore.

Smart choice and cash in the bank. Those hyundai's make great commuters. They aren't 'camrys', but they aren't near the price either.
