Situation plays out the same, Shogun 2, Crysis, Metro go to AMD.

Shogun 2 is not a "go to AMD". The latest update broke something with nVidia/Kepler cards. Look at older reviews and you will see that Kepler is much faster in Shogun 2.

Btw this is even better than the TT leak, since there was concern the short PCB limits the cards turbo potential. Obviously not, HWCannucks got to 1.25ghz turbo.

Gtx680, 79xx and 7870 needs to be priced down. This el'cheapo (manufacturing cost-wise) gtx670 delivers perf/w and perf/$ in spades!

Yeah @ 1600P, the choice between the 7970 and 680 really comes down to games as they are on parity, for me BF3 trumped it in favour of the 680.

At multi-monitor, AMD performs better with the 7970.

AMD need to put out their 1ghz+ core 7970 at this point now. If they have it together enough, they should put out a 1.1ghz core, that would give them some substantial leads in benchmarks.

And glad I don't play BF3 or maybe I'd have been upset haha. This is definitely a solid card. Price is a tad out of ballpark, but I can talk my friend into upping his budget (with a donation.)

LOL, what was that we heard about TweakTown's GTX 670 results being "inaccurate" or even "fake" and those people saying it would be "much slower" than the GTX 680 and behind the HD 7970? Or the typical argument of AA/AF, which BTW didn't change the results at all?

In any case, this card solidly makes the GTX 680 irrelevant. The HD 7970 will need a price cut to $400 at the min, and the HD 7950 will need a price cut to $350. This will obviously trickle down to the other products, with the HD 7870 going down to $300 and the HD 7850 maybe getting a price cut to $230. Again, expect these price cuts to take place this month.

Forget 1600p and above for these cards. There are enough current demanding titles that not even the 7970 and 680 can do properly. 670 and 7950 are best at home at 1080p.

The AT graph for BF3 is without the patch for 7970. The 7970 hasn't been rebenched since. I have played the entire game on 19x10 4x MSAA and a lot at 1440p Ultra no MSAA and almost never did the FPS dip that low. The avg at 1080p 4x MSAA is 70-90 including during fights with minimum in 50s and 60s. If they rebench 7970, they will know.

i thought that the 7970 lost against the 680 in multi-monitor...

i am kinda amazed in how kepler perform in lower resolutions...

Very, very nice card all the way around. If Nvidia cards weren't obscenely expensive here I'd consider one over the summer when temperatures get toasty, but either way, fantastic piece of hardware.

One question for clarification, the card has 4 outputs but can it simultaneously drive 4 (1920x1200) monitors or is it limited to 3?

AMD needs to wake up. For those that play mainstream games, BF3 or WoW, it's rather hard to recommend AMD without a huge disclaimer.

Holy CRAP! The 670 is a beast. Almost makes me regret my recent purchase of a 680.

Given the option today I would have definitely gotten a 670. nVidia solved their GTX 680 supply issues by removing all demand for it. :sneaky:

The bad news for AMD is that very few will buy their cards for metro2033 or crysis but will look to what performs well in recent popular games, ie, BF3, Skyrim.

It still doesn't have proper voltage control, I'll pass until someone make a proper non-locked GK104 card. 8% less performance for 20% lower price is still a good deal.

Someone make an oc caparison to 7950@1200/1650 and then I'll judge if it really is a meaningful improvement in value over 7950 for OCers.

Well, almost no one is gonna be buying a single of these (HD 7970, GTX 670, HD 7950) for 2560x1600 or 5760x1200 gaming. People that want that are gonna CF/SLI.

This is more accurate when it comes to getting a good representation of what the cards can do given their target resolution:

So, by all means, the GTX 670 is the same speed as the HD 7970.
