PCB isn't that short. That image was stretched vertically and shrunk horizontally. Caps look oval for crying out loud.

If price at $400, and if NV play by same strategy as 680 vs 7970, then the 670 should be slightly faster than 7950, notwithstanding the vantage scores. Remember fermi, 470/480 did poorly in vantage yet were faster in most games vs their HD5xxx counterparts.

Im praying for it to be priced low to force amds hand and lower prices

Why bother? If gtx680 is any indication, they will have limited supply and huge demand and it will be sold out all day every day. So if it beats 7950 stock vs stock and is more power efficient, then I think it will debut at $399 and stay there for quite some time.

TT made liars out of whoever did that previous test/shots and liars out of our collective predictions. 670 is basically a 680. AMD is in panic mode I suppose now

Sure? Cz I kinda agree, the performance diff can't be 2-3% or so.

I stand by my 5-15% faster than stock 7950 prediction, though it's looking more like a straight up 15% faster; which puts it ~5% behind the 7970. But TT is not the best at benching, and they apparently didn't even use AA/AF in their tests.

The TT results are strange. It's basically identical to a 680. But with their extreme dislike of nVidia, you would think they would try to make them look bad. But that does not appear to be the case.

If TT is accurate the 7970 is now really overpriced at 479.99. It needs to be 399.99

No, IF TT is accurate, this thing is ~ a gtx680 in performance while using less power. Is there a reason to buy a gtx680 at all, being much more expensive??

If people had qualms as to the "quality" of the 680 compared to the 7970, then this should really give them some ammo for the 670 vs the 7950.

To me, this is NVDA's version of the 7850, not 7950. I only say this because the 7850 PCB is small as well (but not as small the 7950), and its clocked can be cranked way up on pretty much every single one to match stock 680 performance.

28nm is probably the best thing to happen to video cards in a long, long time. Sure the performance increase isn't there, but now the industry has a ton of head room to work with on power consumption to really push the performance in the coming refreshes and new releases. The next gen consoles need to take advantage of this.

You dont need luck to get a GTX 680. You just needs patience that spans over a longer time than 2 minutes :D

The point is something is seriously wrong with the review. That can't be a stock 670 or if it is oced then it can't oc as high as 680 reference. Otherwise nvidia is going to kick itself in the ass. Who would buy a 680 which is equal/worse in every way for nearly $100 more?

I think you are backwards. The 7950 is nearly the same size as a 7970. Mine comes in at roughly 11" as I recall. Quite a bit longer than the 7850's.

Thats basicly why the judgement is so flawed. Here is a heavy OCed card. here we compare it with stock of bigger card.

Hey this 3770K sucks at 3.5Ghz. Just look at this 100$ cheaper 3570K at 4Ghz! ;)

Well said! Though I shop almost exclusively at Newegg, I had to go elsewhere to get a 680 GTX.

You didn't get it. When you oc the bigger card, the diff doesn't actually decrease that much. A bigger gpu once Oced will be much faster as well. You didn't get the point. With CPUs all are the same once Oced enuf since the room is same
