*67 and........

ok, so we all knw that if we use the *67 prefix to call someone, their caller Id will say it is blocked or something. what if I want it to say "unknown" instead.....is there another prefix for that?

I've never heard of one, but you can change your service by calling your local carrier so that it is "unknown" all the time.

Either that or go to a neighbors house or find a payphone.

Not unless you have that option specified with your carrier. There is no difference between cell phone and lan line other than connection.

Most people don't even know how to get it to work properly. You have to get a convertor for some phones anyways.

Most people don't even know how to get it to work properly. You have to get a convertor for some phones anyways.

Really? The few places that I've dealt with like that come up with the switchboard number on caller id. For instance: no matter where I call from here at school, the caller id shows xxx-9300, which is the number for the switchboard. The name - Maryville University - shows up, too.

That's not always true, It shows up on caller ID if you call from an internal phone system as well.
I think they block numbers or something, not manually but automatically from the phone company or something.
