6600gt vs x700 pro

i decided not to get an x800 xl because i think its better to buy a $150 card now and $200 in 1 or 2 years to upgrade for a good graphics card that's faster than an xl. so its either a 6600gt or an x700 pro. the pro starts at like 130 and the 6600gt starts at around 150...but the gt seems to win in most benchmarks except half life. i don't know which to get. if i get an x700 pro wouldn't it be worth the money to get the 256 over the 128? ahhh help please. i don't know where to put my money.

by the way this is all for games.

The XL will be a notch ahead of both cards and will run faster with aa/af and at higher resolutions.

Just letting you know.

Either way, the 6600gt is faster than the x700p and the 256mb version is useless.

eh 160. how much is a fan to replace a stock one and what companies do you guys trust over other ones?

a 6600gt is better than a 9800 pro right?

Yup. Check the AT Video reviews, there's one that compares the 6600GT with the 9800Pro.

This is just fanboy nonsense.

The X700pro 128MB is less expensive (~$130) than a 6600GT (~$160+) ? and comes close to it?s performance ?

its not fanboy nonsense u dikhead...although the Pro is about $30 cheaper there is quite a reasonable difference between the two in which i cannot see someone getting the Pro over the GT especially now that u can find the GT for $150 on newegg....the only few games where the Pro comes close or beats the GT is HL2 and NFSU2...otherwise its pretty much a one sided affair....!!!

If you get an MSI, a fan replacment won't be required. They use very silent fans and copper heatsinks.
