it looks like you may have to RMA, which isnt a really big deal. swap in another card to make sure that is the problem.

I would try to track down the bendor or demand that AOpen issue an RMA. They probably just don't want to deal with it...

How long have you had the card? What caused the hard crash in KOTOR?

i've had the card about 6 months, i have an RMA open with AOpen - but i really don't want to be without a Video Card for 7-14 days! I liked the older RMA days where companies would send you a new card and if you didn't send the dead one back in 14 days you were charged for the new card...

ugh....

i was just playing KOTOR and *blam* the PC just rebooted... i'm guessing it's an issue with OpenGL 1.5 vs 1.4 or something....

Looks like a power issue to me, whether leaking caps or power sags... I had a similar effect when the caps on my old GF4 were leaking (bad batch of caps, remember?) - RMA fixed it. Could just be a sag in the 12V line though.

Edit: Forgot to mention that mine had artifacting in 2D mode as well. If it doesn't have artifacting in 2D chances are it may be a driver/heat/load issue. Have you tried using AOpen's drivers? Their 6600GT video cards can be clocked at 500/900 core/mem rather than the nVidia spec'd 500/1000... may be worth looking into.

I'm having the same issue.

I've got Athlon 64, MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI, BFG 6600GT OC, IGB Corsair Value DDR

I've only tried it with 3D games and 3D graphics demos and not with any 2D.

Is there some demo where I test this case too and conclude as per "ariafrost"'s posts here

the drivers are a problem, too. i could only play without problems on the original drivers, 66.93, and currently 76.50 (beta). the other verions caused artifacts, even to the desktop.

well - i RMA'd my card, and just got it back - seems to be working for now - i'll wait to see how it goes after the box warms up completely....

it's the same card i sent them - not sure what they did, MAYBE a bios update but i'm not crossing my fingers
