6600gt or 6800gt (AGP) ?

hi there,

planning to upgrade my 9600pro soon.

trying to decide between the 6600gt (212Euro) or the 6800gt (350Euro) (AGP). Is the 6800gt worth the extra cash?

reading the reviews and looking at benchmarks I tend to think it's not worth it but, not 100% sure really.

depends what you are playing etc. obviously. what is the rest of your system

plan is to keep on playing current and future games decently: hl2/hl2aftermath, cod/cod2, farcry, etc. mostly fps and a little rts.

6600gt will do doomIII 10x7 max settings fine.
6800gt will do 12x10 max settings fine.

really depends at what settings you paly with.

nothing else matters? only the resolutions, AA's and AF's that I want to use? no effects on frame rate, functions, etc?

if that's the case really, might as well stick with the 6600gt and use the remaining 150Euro to buy myself a nice Logitech steering wheell

um...get more RAM before a steering whell...512 really limits gaming...get AT LEAST 1gb, and a 6600gt will run Doom 3 on 12x7 easily...

with no AA it will run 12x7, forget about it with AA
