6600GT oc?

hey guys I've got an msi 6600GT 128mb agp and it runs stock at 500/900 and I was wondering what you think is safe. I've got it at 550/1000 right now and it seems to be running just fine. any experience?

with the agp you need to flash the bios to enable the temp sensor. i hated my 6600gt agp because of cooling but it used the reference cooler i guess which is a pos. i eventually bent the fins about on a vf700 cooler which helped before using it as my step up card to get a 7800gtx.

i was glad to get rid of it. otoh, the 6600gt pci-e i got for a friend runs a lot cooler and oc's higher, "optimal settings" like 587/1187 or something.

I have already done so, but I don't have an agp temp sensor.

Speeds in my sig. Haven't tried pushing the core further but the memory doesn't want to go further than 1081, get "failed to test at these settings" warning with any memory clock higher than 1081. Maybe since the memory is bare, it heats up too much? I'll get some ramsinks or something, maybe an NV6.

Install Coolbits 2.0!! Then go to Control panel-Display- Configuration-Advanced features-6600GT. There you should now be able to see "Temperature settings".

My PCIe version has been sitting at 525/1050 for a while now which is more than enough. Runs everything out there plenty fast, from Far Cry to Doom 3 to Battlefield 2, all with high settings (cept BF2, textures on medium, but that's RAM not GPU).

Wow, I guess I got lucky because my card auto detects at 580/1.14. I have the XFX and it runs great at this speeds (although I don't use it all the time since I'm on stock cooling).

ok I have another question. my bios does not have any vga or agp options other than agp voltage that have anything to do with my clock or mem speed. I have to adjust it in windows with the msi utility that was installed with the vga drivers that came with the card. Do you guys do it through bios or windows like me?
