Okay so I got a BFG 6600gt OC recently and I got it running at:

618 mhz Core
1.21 ghz mem

Stock OC is:
525
1.05

Stock is:
500
1.00

And idle its running at 51 and only gets up to about 57(highest I have seen, but I would say it has gone higher) during games, thanks to my Vantec PCI fan card. I have been very impressed with my OC results with this card especially since my 9800pro was absolute ****** for OC'ing even witht he fancard. But heres my prob Everest shows the mhz sometimes at say 616mhz instead of 618 and also sometimes shows it at 299 mhz :S and shows the mem at around 607mhz(I think thats because its half of the ddr clock or smthn). Is this just Everest or is it my GPU?

That card is really unstable, I would get rid of it as fast as I could. Since I'm such a nice guy, I'm willing to trade you my 9200 (very stable and will fast for current games @100FPS on all) to take that bound to die within 2 days 6600GT off your hands. PM me for my address.

Hahaha... :D

The guy digs it... No, it's a very, very nice overclock for a 6600GT... Mount a Zalman or AC NV Silencer and try pushing it further, because your idle temp is somewhat high...

You do know that he is trying to trick you, right? Anyway, nice overclock! My BFG 6600GT PCI-E is at 1.22 ghz mem, 585 mhz core. I'm using a zalman vf-700CU and my temps are 43C idle, 50C load. I would try running rthdribl to make sure it's really stable, because you might pass the test, but you still may get artifacts. When the speed goes down, it's in 2d mode, when it's at 618, it's in 3d mode. I wouldn't worry about it fluctuating by 2mhz in 3d mode. The mem is at 607 because it's DDR, Double Data Rate. Your memory is really at 607, but it's running at an effective 1.21.

No I was hoping there was nothing wrong with my video card because everest was reading different speeds :S not because I fell for that oh so cleverly disguised trick. Also I have not gotten any artifacts in any games.

Crescent13's advice is right... Run RTHDRIBL to find your load temps... If those are too high, you could be damaging your card...

All GeForce 6's throttle down on speed when 3D rendering is not needed... in fact, they throttle down to about half-speed when doing strictly 2D windows work. There's nothing wrong with your card, that's a feature, not a fault.
