6600GT CLock Frequency Settings...

Hey all... just having a look through the nVIDIA display settings thingy and i noticed the 'Clock Frequency Settings' tab....

this gives you the option to:
1. No Overclocking
2. Auto Overclocking
3. Manual Overclocking

when i clicked on manual - and did 'auto detect best settings' it came up with 532MHz (normal = 500MHZ thus a 6% OC) for the CORE clock frequency and it had changed the memory clock frequency from 1.00GHz to 1.06MHz (also 6& OC)

will this provide any performance INCREASE?

could i MANUALLY go HIGHER?

should i NOT do ANY OC?

About 6%.

You can manually set it to whatever you want (and the card's BIOS will allow). Whether it will run stably (or at all) at higher speeds is another question.

If you like your warranty, then yes. If you don't care about your warranty, and aren't worried about possibly shortening your card's lifespan, go nuts.

Searching for "overclock" or "overclocking" will provide a LOT of information on this topic. If you are interested in more in-depth overclocking information, I find overclockers.com is a good resource.
 
Overclocking doesn´t void a card´s warranty because there is no way the company will know.

And yes, you can OC further, test for artifacts and graphical glitches at every increment.

Overclocking voids your warranty. Period.

Choosing whether you want to lie and RMA your card even if you have OCed it is a different issue.
 
OK... was more after any first hand infor of other ppl using this utility?!? and how it had worked out for them.....
