At MSRP, the SLI of 6600GT will be MUCH better. double the numbers in each benchmark, and it will outperform a 6800 ultra easily. 2x $220= $440 for much higher performance. 16k in 3dmark03...

its 43 fps at 1600x1200. double that. its 86 fps, better than a ultra can do.

Aye, it'll be somewhere around 25% to 35% more, depending on the app.

SLI timetable == when the PCIE cards and platforms come out. AFAIK All PCIE cards 6600GT or higher will be SLI capable out of the box.

Depends. 5800Us with 500/1000 clocks (128bit) generally equalled or outperformed 5900XTs 400/700(256 bit).

Clock speeds equal, 256bit would be better of course.

As far as "GTs are a better value" goes, GTs are MSRP $399.99. These cards are MSRP $199.99. Not many people with $400 to spend on GTs will consider this card at all, and vice versa. You can't really speculate on what cards will cost in a month or two as supply/demand will set the price.

Yes, SLI guarantees a MAXIMUM of 1.7 times the performance in only optimal situations. 1.5 times the performance is a much more reasonable number. Nothing to sneeze at, thats a real nice boost for an upgrade option.

Maybe we will start to see 6850's/GT's/Ultra's using the 110nm process for fall refresh. Those clockspeeds on the 6600 cores look very promising.

They OC in the review.

From the 500/1000 default clocks they got to 550/1100, and the OCed 6600GT passed the stock X800Pro in 3dm'03 and aquamark3 not that it matters

One interesting note though is that the vanilla 6600 actually also made it to 550mhz... from a stock of 300mhz, thats like a 80% GPU OC :Q
