Hello All,
I just upgraded my video card so I can pass down my older (Ati 9800) to my son's comp...after reading all the reviews and such I decided to try the 6600GT (XFX) version...I uninstalled my Ati "Omega" drivers through Win. Remove programs and used Driver Cleaner Pro to get rid of the Ati stuff and installed.
Everything looks and runs great...I'm currently playing WOW in 1280 x 1024 mode @ 85mhz refresh with no problems at all.
But I decided to try the video playback quality and all I get is torn and stuttering images?
I've tried 3 diff DVD movies and 3 diff software apps...Win. Media Player/ InterActual Player/ and Nero's video playback app....
All 3 of these apps worked with no problem with my old card (Ati 9800np)
So I'm wondering if there's a setting or something I'm missing?
I'm surprised that my game is running fine but not the video playback?
ANY and all ideas or things to check whould be greatly appreciated!

ps - VCD's work fine from my dvdr-combo drive w/WMP so I'm like ????? WTH?
I FOUND THE ANSWER!!!!!!! (i think) lol
Well I un-installed the Omega drivers based on the Nvidia 66.93 driver set....and installed the "official" Nvidia 66.93 and ALL my apps work with video playback!!! I have NO clue what the difference is/was, I've for years had no problem with Omega Drivers?
Anyway, just thought I'd pass along what worked for me 🙂
