Does it really cost more to have something run at a higher frequency? I wouldn't have guessed that.

When I first read that, it sounded like they were referring to "cost" in terms of the card's resources and not dollars.
Again, when 4x AA is enabled, the midrange 6600GT isn't able to scale as well with some of the higher end cards of the previous generation.

well i'm waiting for anything to drop... you got these brand spanking new cards out and 9800s are still ~ $200![]()
From what I've heard, Newegg refurbs aren't what they used to be. I got my R8500 from them a few years back as a refurb, and it appeared new with everything included. Now it seems the cards are hit-or-miss, with a large % of them DOAOriginally posted by: PingSpike

You got that right. I think I'm going to wait until after christmas...maybe I'll be able to snag some sweet refurbs off newegg or something. Newegg probably has a boatload of refurbs right after christmas wouldn't you think?
6600gt is suppose to have a retail price of like $199 or something, but there aren't many of them out so I think the price is inflated currently due to demand

I certainly hope so, this card is looking really good.
The XFX card has 1000 mhz Ram Speed so other companies coming out with this card should follow suit.
The games bundle is a little weak though, shoulda been a free copy of doom 3

They also might be using 2.2ns RAM (900Mhz) instead of 2.0ns (1000Mhz). It's not very clear.
