6600gt AGP cooling

I have a gigabyte 6600gt agp card.

about a week after i got it, the fan started to make an awful noise. Sounds like its getting ready to die. Ive already RMA'd this card once (1st one had a broken cap) and i dont really want to do it again.

What are my options? Are there any custom cooling sets compatible with this card?

oh man, I've had no problems with my fan on my gigabyte AGP8x card. Hmmm. Did you check to see if perhaps the case enclosing the fan was conflicting with the rotations of the fan? That happened to me with my old PNY 5200. As for after market cooling solutions, I am not sure. Arctic cooling doesn't offer an AGP cooler version for NVIDIA's 6600GT line of cards (they do, but its only for PCI express)

They make quite a few water-blocks that fit the 6600GT AGP. I am currently using an "Evercool AW1"(?) kit that retails for $90-100. It has allowed me to OC up to 600/1175 with no problems temp/artifact wise.

Kit comes with 2 different GPU mounting brackets so that the GPU block can be used on a 6600GT AGP or a video card with smaller/closer mounting holes.

I think im going to go with the vf700 ALCU, if i cant figure out some other way to fix it. Has anyone used the ALCU version of the vf700? the CU seems like it would be too much weight pulling down on the card.

Also ive noticed a high pitched noise coming from the card from time to time, could it be that my psu just isnt putting out enough power and that is what is causing these problems?

I have the Zalman ALCU mounted on two of our MSI 6600GT. Much quieter than the stock hsf. The only thing to keep in mind is to make sure you have clearance above the AGP slot. The Zalman sticks out about an inch and a quarter above the top of the card. Otherwise, it seems to do an excellent job.

The old Dangerden GPU blocks work on the 6600GT as well. The site lists applications only up to the 59XX, but Here is my setup with it installed. Bolted right on, no clearance issues etc.
