6600 vs 9600 pro/xt

i can find either of those for around $120. help me find any benchmarks that compare the 2. (or whatever card is the best for $100)

9600 series cards are worth picking up if they are dirt cheap otherwise you are buying old technology.

Check XbitLabs' S3 GammaChrome S18 review for 6600 vs. X600P numbers. The 6600 is just plain faster, as it should be (8 pipes @ 300MHz vs. 4 pipes @ 400MHz). OCing it should also be more noticable given its doubled pipe count, as you're gaining twice the fill-/shader-rate with each extra MHz.
