6600 vs 6600GT?

Up until this weekend I was leaning toward an 9600Pro. But now I'm leaning toward upgrading to a 6600 or X700. Although I haven't ruled out a 6600GT.

Why? Becuase a 3500+ basically fell on my lap, and I figure running that on a 9600 (or 6200 which was the alternative) just isn't right.

But what I can't find are some benches specifically comparing the GT to the plain vanilla. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, I'm currently searching this forum for how well the 3 cards overclock. If you have a comment on this plz reply.
 
I've personally seen the 9600xt in action on HL2... I wouldn't get it. Really didn't give smooth gameplay. Besides it sounds like you have a PCI Express motherboard if you're considering an X700 or 6600 (non-gt) so an APG 9600 wouldn't cut it.

On gamespot the 6600gt blew away every card in its class. Even if you overclock the other cards you listed you aren't going to touch a stock 6600gt. Newegg has the best overall deal right now on them, $180.
