6600 or 6420

Which one do you guys recommend? This will be an all-around desktop. I play games some, but might be playing more or less in the future. I might do some light overclocking since I like free performance. I'll be buying a DS3 mobo as well.

Is the 6600 really worth the extra $40?

If it were me, I'd save the cash and take the E6420. They seem to be overclocking much better than the more recent E6600s.

I would also say that you should go with the E6420 and save the $40 (buy a new HSF with that).

Yeah the E6420 is the best bang 4 buck if you ask me. Shoot, the best bang 4 buck to be honest, is more along the lines of E2160 or E4300. 🙂 But out of those two, it is the E6420. 🙂
