6600 gt agp compatibability

Have been looking at purchasing a 6600 gt agp, it is s 8x agp part and I am not sure if my dell dimension 4550 which has a 5700 ultra in it now ( i believe its 4x agp however not sure} is compatible with the 6600gt . have looked online thru google trying to figure this out for a couple days and decided doh, there are al least a meg of peeps at anand that would know. . and if not would you tell me if 9800xt is compatible . see you at W.O.W.😕

AGP 8x cards are backwards compatible with 4x, and 4x cards can be used in an 8x system. You shouldn't experience much performance loss.

All GeForce FX series AGP cards are AGP 8x.

6600GT will work fine in your Dell. Dont worry 🙂
