6 hours has passed, and only 17% finished, my god ;)

I hope my ISP don't drop me, or i won't be a very happy man.

you know opera resumes broken downloads, as well as ftp, well, this is just a plug to get more people to switch to the superior browser that is opera.

I remember the days when I used a 56k modem. I was an IRC clan warrer at the time, and was constantly fending off stability problems. Hang in there. I've endured far worse from the horrors of 56k modems(and although not retired, I am not currently an active IRC clan warrer).

My current rig includes a Terayon cable router w/16 ips and 11mbps upload/43mbps download, kingston switch, and a secondary router(linksys). I know I should use eggdrops, but my 486's are good enoguh. BTW my bandwidth is dedicated. Not too bad for a residential account imho.

If you're dl-ing with IE 5 or above, and you don't reboot, it will automatically resume files if you get disconnected from the net. (Handy because after that ad banner thing got ahold of GetRight, there hasn't been any good replacements since)

I prefered gozilla to ger right, but dam is right, opera rocks them both with its built in manager. Anyway I remember a couple days before Q2 came out one of my friends who spend a day downloading it over 28.8! It took a few hours hehe. What redhat areyou d/ling out of curiosity? I'm stil a 6.2 fan ;) :)

Thats nothing :)
I've downloaded about 10 gigs of Anime on my trusty 56k :)

I think I am an obsessive/compulsive downloader.

lol I copied two RH 7.1 images (645 and 644MB = ~1.3GB) in just a matter of seconds on a 10/100 switched LAN. I still have them, just sitting there. :D

Sorry, had to. ;)

I'm on 56k and get dropped every 6 hours, so I feel your pain. I just filled out the application for 1.5 / 512K ADSL today though so hopefully I can get it (9.5k feet away from CO) and hopefully there isn't any complications and downloads are fast.
