Am i correct in thinking that i will be able to connect 2 harddrives to this motherboard in a non raid configuration (to see 2 separate harddrives)?

I have not heard of a motherboard that you cannot hook 2 hd's to in many years

Absolutely. I have an Asus P5N-D (nForce 750i) which is not much different than yours. I have a 500GB UATA and a 320GB SATA. Go for it.

Just plug it in a SATA port and partition/format with your OS.
