650 Thunderbird does 800

I bought a unlocked thunderbird 650 from Compgeeks, it was $62 after the MC discount, it arrived yesterday, dropped it in the MSI K7T Pro-2A, and it would post at 850, but not stable ME would crash loading, dropped it to 800 at 1.75volts and it runs perfect, max temp 39c under load with a CoolerMaster fan. I wanted 900 but got only 800, I guess I might have to give it to my son, he's running a Celeron at 550.

I guess I might be more blessed than I thought. My 650 (unlocked, luck of the draw)is running at 850 ...at 1.60 votage (1.67 indicated)

I just ordered the 650 from Compgeeks too. It is going in my Brother's new machine. Here are the Specs:

I plan on running the 650 at 6.5x133 (866) or 7x133 (933). I have some arctic Silver and good HSF. I will let you guys know how it goes when I get it. Oh yeah, what color was the core?

I purchased 2 from them and the MSI K7tPro2a from elsewhere. Have not gotten good results. I think it's the powersupply... on one machine 750MHz was the best I could do. On the other, 750 only works occasionally... if it posts and boots up I'm good @ 750. Most of the time it'll lock up, upon cold boot I can set it back to 650 and works fine. Processor temp is not an issue, never goes above 39c. CPU Voltage set to default is measured 1.75 w/ this power supply. Upping or lowering did not help.

I've done some additional diagnostics and I'm pretty sure the power supply isn't providing correct or adequate power. I'm probably going to get a 300w power supply to see if that helps.

I just got my brothers to go to 6x133 = 800. Works great This is on an 8kta3.
