Current config for video

7900GT and 20" Viewsonic LCD.
will update it by september(on a trip right now)

I will get a 4870 512mb for a 24" LCD or bigger.

By September i guess 4870 512mb will be around $240.

I want to play games like FPS(call of duty 4, halflife just some fast reaction games) at 24" at 1920x1200. (AA is not a must)

my budget for both is $650.
Is $400 enough for a very decent 24" LCD with no regret? or even a bigger size?

btw, i only have a Antec Neo HE 500 psu, is it enough for 4870?

or should i ask, for $650, how juicy can i use for every cent?

BenQ G2400WD I got this one for $400 and was quite pleased. As far as I could tell $400 is as cheap as you can go for a decent quality 1920x1200 monitor. If you're prepared to lower the resolution to less than that you can, of course, find cheaper displays.

Have fun

Is this Acer 24" 243W really that good?
I bought it with a friend for his system last time, but didn't have time to take a look closely.
I remember when i look from underneath, the visible angle for this LCD is not that good.
I didn't have time to test other things at that time.
I have seen few posts referring to this LCD

a 4870x2 is nice, but too bad it is out of my budget.

I am hoping to run games at 19x12.
games like rainbow six, (i can't find reviews about this game)
games like Call of duty 4

So is 4870 merely enough, or plenty enough?

btw, i don't need AA if FPS is not enough. If 4xAA is just take 5 fps off then it is another story.

I like eye candy stuffs like dynamic light, but i don't like shadows in games.

btw, a 4870x2 needs 450w when loaded(complete system).
How many watts of PSU can handle it?
