64meg vs. 32meg....

Just curious if I play at 1024 32bit in most of my games, would I notice any improvement upgrading to a 64meg card?

Basically Im just curious how much of a difference the extra RAM would make....

I currently own a GeForce II 32meg, considering an Ultra and one of the deciding factors is the extra 32meg, that and the insane memory speeds.

Would it be a complete waste upgrading at this time?

(any release date info on the NV20)

Thanks for any help.

Sorry if this has been asked before, Im new.

:)

Unless you have a lot of money to waste I would not get the Ultra. It costs to much for the little improvement it would offer. The last I heard about the NV20 is. It was cancelled because the NV25 release was going to be to close to the NV20 release.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that.

Have any sites guesstimated a release for the NV25?

Not in any hurry, just wish I had waited for the 64meg GTS instead of jumping on the 32meg toot sweet.

skull is wrong.

The nV20 was not canceled, it was delayed. Why the hell would they cancel a completely new chip with a brand new architecture? That would be incredibly stupid.

Edit: Oh, according to firingsquad's(?) Comdex coverage, nVidia will announce the nV20 in february-march timeframe and launce in the spring sometime. Don't waste your money on the GTS Ultra. It would be a complete waste of money. You'd have to be out of your mind to spend $400 to uprgrade from a GTS 32megger. Besides, the added 32 megs won't help that much anyway, especially at the resolution you play at.

I agree with KnightBreed, Nvidia puts new graphics cards out too often. You should be able to skip every other one without it affecting your gaming too much, or at least wait for a game worthy and in need of the boost. (prices fall fast)
