I was looking around on pricewatch, and found:

"64MB Corsair SDRAM PC133 8MX64 168 DIMM Unbuffered Valueselect Memory"

for $36/stick at Affordable Computers. . . Part Number# 3492

http://www.affordablecomputers.com/products/3492

Dunno how well it overclocks or if it will run CAS-2, but I ordered 3 sticks, and shipping was $9.31, so for $117.31, i've got 3 sticks of Corsair memory coming my way. . . upgrade my machines.

I checked www.resellerratings.com before ordering, and they didn't have many ratings for the company, but the ones they had were almost unanimously positive, and the comments were good. I also called the company's 800-number before ordering, to ask a few questions, and the tech was named Scott, spoke perfect English, and answered my questions politely. It was a pretty good experience so far. I will post an update when the memory gets in to say how it performs and how long it takes to arrive. Anyway, hope this saves some of you some $$$.

It will work at the advertized speed, but you will not be able to run it one mhz above spec. It's designed to compete with generic memory.

Yes indeed Xzavier... Corsair memory, while the most expensive, is also probably the best memory available. Just as good if not better than crucial's memory and Corsair is almost always going to cost you over $1 a meg, much higher than today's standards, so this deal is definitely hot. I imagine, with 64mb being somewhat small on today's OS's (win me and win2k) that corsair is probably not producing as many of these and are offering them at a lower cost to its resellers. For a 256 meg stick you won't find it any lower than about $225 for your pc133 memory by Corsair. If you want top quality memory and want to spend a little extra, corsair is the way to go. Personally I chose crucial but this is a hot deal as well.

Good deal! I'm assuming this works on all boards? I need 64MB for a Celeron 300 system (not the A, stuck running it at 66, but don't mind because I found it in the trash). It's going in a system with LX chipset.

Well folks, I just ordered some, so soon as I get it, I'll give the word whether to get it or not. Interestingly enough, I tried to match the manufacturer number listed with the one that they have on Corsair's website and they did not match, not even close. But then I noticed that when the order was complete, it said that I got 64MB PC133 of Valueselect memory. Don't know what the hell that really means, but it's worth a try...ok.....me done....

i just wish i knew for sure if there was a significant difference between value ram and the more expensive cas 2 ram. i don't really think there is. i have a duron 650@950 right now w/64MB of generic PC100 cas3 ram. gotta tell you my system runs fine. never locks up, games play smoothly, etc. don't really see a need to overclock the ram and cas2 seems like just another marketing gimmick to me.

LIke I said earlier, it's designed to compete with the low priced generic ram, and without it, Corsair would have a lot less customers, since it's main line of memory is high end. It's still better than generic memory, because having the Corsair name on it means it will work at the advertized speed. But that's it. I have one 64 meg dimm of Valueselect, not in my main pc any more though, because I could not run at a bus speed 3 mhz above spec. I hope this helps. If you plan to overclock this is not the memory for you, otherwise it's a great buy.
