So I had 4 gigs of RAM in my machine. 32bit Windows XP won't see it all apparently, and I need a server or 64bit OS.

So install 64bit Vista same thing.

Check BIOS, and Asus BIOS tells me event hought I have 4096MB installed, only 2927 Usable.

Is there a way around this folks, or am I SOL with this mobo?

All help is appreciated thanks.

Check whether you have "RAM relocation" (or somesuch) enabled in the board's BIOS. This is what makes the amount of RAM below 4G that got overlapped by I/O (that 1G you're missing) reappear in 64-bit space above 4G.
