64bit vista issues with temp software

coretemp and rmclock keep crashing my machine and im guessing its because im on 64bit vista. does anybody know of any temperature monitoring programs that are accurate with quads that will work on 64bit vista. im OCing to 3.6ghz with a q6600 and my temps look fine in speedfan (yes i added 15c to all the cores) but my cpu temp at load starts out higher than my core temps. after 15 or 20 minutes the cpu temps level out at 55 and the core temps are around 58 to 60. from what i understand the IHS temps should NEVER be higher than the core temps so im looking for a 3rd and 4th reading. right now im using speedfan and everest. thanks

All of those programs will need to load a driver to check the temp. Vista 64 does not allow unsigned drivers to run. You have two options:

1) Use a program that already has a signed driver, like Speedfan, and adjust the temperature offset if necessary if you have a Core 2 chip with a 100C Tjunction

2) Hit F8 each time you start to boot into Vista 64 and select the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option to allow you to run unsigned drivers for a single Windows session. You will need to do this to be able to properly install most programs that utilize such drivers.

The 2nd method might be a slight pain, but allows you to run most apps like Rivatuner and CoreTemp that don't offer a signed driver. You also can install Beta drivers that were packaged unsigned in this manner.
