Ahhhhhhh! I sold all my video cards, and i dont get a new one untill i build my new computer. Im on the onboard 8 meg vid card. I have no clue what card it is, and windows wont install the drivers for it. Im currently at 640x480 with 16 colors. Any clue how i might get it working again?

How! Install the driver for it.
Does your motherboard came with one CD? If yes the driver is in there.
Who is the manufacturer of the motherboard and what type of motherboard is it?
Tell us more details we may point you where the driver is on the internet.

Hmm. i have no clue what the motherboard is.. its a crappy ass compaq... i threw away the case a few months ago.. and all i have is an open innerds of a case. Theres one set of markings on the case. Its a circle with P006 then, (the date) aug 09, 1999, then QC1. I do know its an 8 meg video system.. that eats 8 megs of my systems memory. As for the driver cd.. once again its a crappy as compaq... all the files are scrambled up or something.. the only way you can reinstall drivers off of it is do to a complete recovery process..and i would lose my partitions and all my data...

Odd, Windows should have drivers for the Rage cards...you could look through all the chips on your board and see if any chip says a video card company, Trident, S3, etc. and see if you can figure it out from there. Or you can look up your computer's model number at compaq's site and see if that tells you anything.
